1LE Camaro News

Hello 1LEREGISTRY Fans! Looks like the Camaro 1Le has reviews coming out. That’s right and ZL1/1LE Registry is bringing it to you hot of the youtube press. Autobytel recently caught up with the Chevrolet Camaro Chief Engineer, Al Oppenheiser, at GingerMan Raceway in South Haven, Michigan for a look at the track focused muscle machine. The 1LE Camaro is new for 2013 and upgrades the Camaro SS V-8 with a $3500 option package that consists of a bunch of upgraded parts from the more powerful ZL-1. The 2013 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE is is for those pony car owners that will let their Camaro run loose on the track; and want to drive the car to the limit.

Starting with the exterior, the first thing you notice is the flat black hood which looks great against the Rally Yellow paint scheme. The wheels are upgraded to a set of ZL1 Low-Gloss Black 10-Spoke Aluminum rims size 20-inch wrapped in 285/35ZR20 Goodyear Eagle Supercar Generation 2 performance summer tires. The calipers are now painted red. The other exterior changes you see on the Camaro 1LE Performance Package are a front splitter and rear spoiler. The goal of these aero parts is to help with grip on the track.

The manual transmission is a TREMEC 6-speed with a close-ratio gearbox and a 3.91 final-drive axle ratio. The 5.1/1 short throw shifter decrease time between gear changes. The suede shift knob and suede steering wheel are the same ones found on the ZL1 model.

The Chevy Camaro 1LE was designed to compete and beat the Ford Mustang Boss 302 which cost over $10k more. You can get into this car for around $37k which is a great price for the amount of performance.
